Creating Territory Futures Through Apprenticeships

Our story began in 1989, when Top End Group Training, trading as GTNT, opened its doors as a local not-for-profit with a small office on Cavenagh Street, Darwin,  1 staff members, 7 apprentices and the big goal of creating skilled employment opportunities for Territorians. Today GTNT Group employs over 350 people, operates throughout the Northern Territory and is the largest employer of apprentices and trainees in the NT!

In 1999 we successfully tendered for the first Australian Apprenticeship Support Services contract for the Northern Territory, jointly funded by the Australian Federal Government and Northern Territory Government. Since then we have had a dedicated Australian Apprenticeships Support Network (AASN) team focused on providing both administrative and regulatory functions on behalf of both federal and state governments, assisting many businesses and over 70,000 apprentices and trainees. These services include signing up new apprentices, providing Group Training information, recruitment, payroll and employment services.

Our AASN Service team is responsible for helping new and existing employers, apprentices and trainees in the Territory to successfully navigate the Australian Apprenticeship programme through the provision of a diverse range of support services. These services include signing up new apprentices, providing Group Training information, recruitment, payroll and employment services. You can find out more about the Federal Government Australian Apprenticeship program here.

We have permanent offices in Darwin, Alice Springs, Katherine and Tennant Creek and our team also travels to a range of remote communities to make sure we are able to assist as many local businesses and apprentices as possible.
