George Beattie’s journey as an apprentice at Bridge Toyota Darwin & Palmerston is already turning heads. He is currently completing his Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology.
George chose the apprenticeship pathway because he wanted more than just theory, he wanted real-life experience with the tools and technology he’s passionate about. Working alongside experienced technicians in a professional workshop has given him exactly that.
"𝗜𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗯𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲, 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹𝘀 𝘀𝗼 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝘁'𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗽𝘁𝘀, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗶𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝘆𝗼𝘂'𝗿𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗳𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲."
For George, the opportunity to train with Toyota has been both exciting and rewarding. A highlight has been gaining access to exclusive, state-of-the-art Toyota training facilities, where he has learned directly from industry experts about the latest vehicle technologies. These specialised sessions have been invaluable in supporting his practical work back in the Bridge Toyota workshop.
His advice for new apprentices? “𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲… 𝗯𝗲 𝗮 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻, 𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀.”
George’s dedication and positive attitude haven’t gone unnoticed. At this year’s GTNT Group Awards, he was proudly recognised with the Outstanding Apprentice – Stage 1 Award, a strong sign of the bright career ahead of him.
